01Angel's Fabrics & Upholstery Built

Fort Worth & Grapevine · Upholstery + 675-SKU fabric store · Owner Angel Montalvo, son Luis runs front of house

The pitch — 9 verifiable defects

  • Footer email is misspelledupholsteryanges@, missing the L. Every lead from that page bounces.
  • Schema still has the OLD address (5136 Jacksboro) and an old phone. Actively misinforming Google.
  • Displays a "BBB Accredited" badge they haven't earned. A+ rating is real; accreditation isn't.
  • Grapevine ZIP is wrong — 75051 is Grand Prairie, should be 76051.
  • 675-product fabric store isn't in the navigation. Their biggest asset, hidden.
  • No <h1> on the homepage.
  • Serving 19 MB photographs. Rebuild ships the same photos at 21 MB total, down from 285 MB.
  • 78 gallery photos, zero alt text.
  • Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth is a client — and it's an unlabeled JPEG.
Open with: the misspelled email. It's a gift, not a pitch, and it earns the next thirty seconds honestly.

02BMC Piano Service Built

Southlake · Piano tuning, repair & restoration · Owner Brandon Carter · No email address exists — phone/text only

The pitch

  • A whole page of his site is his web designer's advertisement. /business-partners/ is in his nav and lists 13 of the agency's other clients — a chiropractor, a mushroom supply company — with 17 outbound links off his domain.
  • His navigation says "Forth Worth" — on all 10 pages.
  • The Services page is empty. In the main nav, contains the word "Services" and nothing else.
  • His name appears three ways, incl. "BMC Piano tuning Service" in all 84 page titles.
  • His homepage hero is an AI-generated piano with no keyboard. Floating lid prop, glass leg, melted bench.
  • No tel: link anywhere. On a phone the number isn't tappable.
  • No contact form. No email address. No booking.
  • Pinch-zoom disabled — WCAG failure, for an older affluent audience.
  • Southlake page — his own town, best market — orphaned from the nav, meta says "Fort Worth".
  • A $100k restored 1888 Hamburg Steinway is filed as a blog post.
  • He publishes his prices. Almost nobody in the trade does.
Open with: the un-tappable phone number, then ask if he's looked at the Business Partners page lately. He may not know it's there.

Plano3.5 ★ · 13 ⚠️GoDaddy Website BuilderRenting a template monthly — easy cost-savings pitch, but weakest reputation on the list.

Geography: Dow, Blue Bonnet and Angel's are all within a few miles on Camp Bowie / west Fort Worth — one trip could cover three in-person pitches. Mann's is the closest to home.

Pattern worth knowing: roofers, HVAC, tree service and pest control are already over-marketed — skip them. The vein is high-craft generational trades: upholstery, framing, appliance repair, piano tuning, old bakeries. Tells are searchable — wixstatic.com in the source, a dead agency credit, a fax number, an @mindspring or @yahoo owner email.

How this runs

the repeatable bit
01Lead with the gift

Open every call with something broken that costs them money and costs you nothing to mention. A misspelled email, an un-tappable phone number, a domain about to expire. Then stop talking.

02Build it before you ask

Don't describe what you'd do. The mockup is the pitch. Their photos, their copy, their logo — arranged so their reputation actually shows.

03Get it on their phone

Goal of call one is the link in their hand while you're still talking. Never offer to email it — text it before you hang up.

04Never invent proof

No fabricated testimonials, no unverified credentials, no badges they haven't earned. Every review on every mockup is verbatim and sourced.
